Western psychologists recognize 3 levels of consciousness within 3rd dimensional beings:
- Subconscious – Controls our automatic processes and is the source of dreams, instincts, memories, emotional awareness and belief systems. Humans operate from subconscious levels of mind approximately 95% of the time. (Freudians call the subconscious the unconscious.)
- Conscious – The portion of the mind that is aware. It is the source of thinking, analyzing, imagining and learning. This level of mind is only in charge about 5% of the time.
- Superconscious – Associated with the collective unconsciousness, it is the source of higher potential, creativity, intuition, quantum reality, and spiritual awareness. The superconscious is accessed through the pineal gland, or the 3rd eye.
All of our individual consciousnesses are connected to the Collective Consciousness as if it were the Great Mothership. The gateway to the Collective Conscious is through our subconscious. Altering our brain wave cycles allows us to access other dimensions.
The 5 states of brain-wave activity are:
- GAMMA (40 to 80 cycles per second) Involved in higher mental activity and the organization of information. Associated with highly attentive states.
- BETA (14 to 27 cycles per second) Normal waking consciousness (in 3rd dimension). The conscious mind is usually too powerful to access subconscious thoughts and memories.
- ALPHA (8 to 13 cycles per second) Passive, resting state. Occurs during relaxation, listening to music, mystical states, just before and after sleep, during light hypnosis, meditation, biofeedback, daydreaming, and opens the door to the 4th dimension. The higher pitches of the drum beat in shamanic journeying induces the alpha state. Past life memories are accessed while in this state.
- THETA (4 to 8 cycles per second) Reverie state where one is unaware of physical surroundings. Occurs during light sleep, is accessible during biofeedback and meditation, and opens the door to intuition, inspiration, and the 5th dimension. The low pitches of the drum beat in shamanic journeying induces the theta state. Shamanic experiences and between life memories are accessed while in this state.
- DELTA (0.5 to 4 cycles per second) Occurs during deep sleep. This is too deep a state to consciously access memories however many other activities such as visiting other dimensions, astral traveling, and dreaming can occur.

I’m glad that people are starting to become aware and accepting of the superconscious (infinite intelligence, collective conscious, etc.). Have you ever heard of the Silva method? That is where I first came into contact with these concepts and it has been a great blessing to me. Where can I learn more about shamanic methods and meditations?

Thank you for your input on this post. I find the levels of consciousness fascinating. (Probably because I am a hypnotherapist and shamanic practitioner. lol). You can find out more about shamanic methods at http://www.drakeinnerprizes.com/shamanism.htm. You will be interested in the 3 states of consciousness of the shamanic world, which are the Lower World, Middle World, and Upper World. In fact, I was going to post about this topic very soon but perhaps I will do it for you today.

oh Wow!! Love this. I have this question.. We say that when we raise our vibration, we can manifest from higher vibrational frequencies, that our minds become clear, receptive, and that higher vibrational timelines are available for us. How can we explain this with brainwaves? I am a bit confused because Delta, or Theta brainwaves that we reach in deep meditation and detached awareness – during which we receive healing and intuitive messages, are lower in frequency than Alpha, and Alpha brainwaves are lower than Beta. Also I am wondering if it is ok to use your “How the minds are linked” image in a book that I am writing? Thank you so much.

You ask a very good question and one I had not thought of before now. I am not sure what the answer is, but my intuitive guess is that the brainwave states are applicable only to this (3rd) dimension because they are related to the physical body’s brain. Just as time is different in other dimensions, I suspect the energy vibrations of consciousness are also different in non-physical worlds. If these frequencies have been documented, I have not read about them (yet). I will definitely be doing some research on this. Yes, you may use the image of how the minds are linked you like. Please use the new one, I just updated in this article. For one, I misspelled “consciousness” in the old one. If you would like a higher resolution jpg for publishing, email me and I will send it. Thank you for asking.

Dear Drake, Thank you so much for your reply, and for giving permission to use the image. I would appreciate it if you can email me the higher resolution jpg of the image. Regarding the connection between our vibration and brainwaves, I have read quite a bit of what is available on the internet but did not get a clear answer. What my intuition tells me is that it has something to do with nonduality. The lower the frequency of our brainwaves are, we are closer to a non-dualistic state (zero energy vibration). When our consciousness is focused outwards, on to the body-mind-world, which end of the duality we are currently holding onto determines our energy vibration at any given moment, and that determines what we attract (i.e. what we define as good and bad may raise or lower our vibration, but they are only definitions and concepts of the mind anchoring us to the body-mind-world). So when we withdraw our consciousness from the body-mind-world, the frequency of our brainwaves drops down, creating space for higher vibrational energy to filter through. These are just my thoughts. Please let me know if you find the answer.
I enjoy reading your articles, Drake. They are direct and to the point. And I love how you present them. I am someone who loves graphs and images to clarify what I understand from what I read.
By the way, I am sorry for my late response. Didn’t get to check email for a couple of days.
Warm regards,
Chami

You have done a lot of research on this and it sounds very interesting. I am thinking about the concept of lowering our brain wave state to allow higher energies to come in. I will email you a copy of the graphic however I need your email address so can you email me at drakebearstephen@pacbell.net?
