How does your gender and sexual identity define you? Find out in this guide for identity fluidity in the 21st century.

The soul, when not in human form, is a being of light and energy. It has no gender and no sexual orientation. Therefore, gender and sexual identities are constructs of incarnation created for learning purposes. The question, then, is why did each of us choose our specific gender and sexual orientation for this lifetime?

I offer fresh perspectives on gender and sexual identity, including biological, sociological, and psychological influences with an emphasis on spiritual impacts. Included are new concepts about gender fluidity and alternative sexual orientations. I have drawn on years of research and personal experience to create the broadest perspective of gender and sexual identity compiled in one volume.

Gender and sexual identity are two of the most basic but powerful aspects of our personal identity. These are the bedrocks upon which we build our self-concept and the lenses through which we view the world. Labels are not important but self-identity is critical to self-empowerment. This book illustrates how our identities are not set at fixed points but lay along ever-shifting continua. Here you will discover:

  • How gender and sexual identities are created and why.
  • How gender and sexual identities change throughout one lifetime or over multiple lifetimes.
  • Theories on why a soul chooses its gender and sexual identity when incarnating.
  • Introduction of the Energy Body.
  • The history and mythology of Two Spirit and Third Gender cultures around the world.
  • The real story of a “boy named Sue”: my life as a Four Spirit.

If you have questioned your gender and sexual identity or if you have never questioned your gender and sexual identity, this book is for you. This book is also for individuals who want a deeper understanding of gender and sexual identities, individuals who are improving their self-empowerment through identity ownership, individuals who are exploring identity fluidity, and students of gender and sexuality studies.

In Soul Sex, I offer a buffet of perspectives on gender, sexuality, and identity. You are invited to sample each of the dishes as food for thought.

Fluidity is the new identity of the 21st century.
Acceptance is the new morality.
Self-empowerment is the new mantra.

ABOUT GENDER & SEXUALITY

“Fluidity is the new identity of the 21st century.
Acceptance is the new morality.
Self-empowerment is the new mantra.”

“In Soul Sex, I am offering a buffet, from soup to nuts, of perspectives on gender, sexuality, and identity. I invite you to sample each of the dishes as food for thought.”

“Your genes determine what’s in your jeans (your biological body) but not what type of jeans you wear (your psychological identity).”

“The soul, when not incarnated, is a being of light and energy. It has no gender, no sex, and no sexual orientation. Gender and sexual identity are constructs of human incarnation. This means that the states of gender and sexual identity are created for the sole purpose of learning.”

“Gender identity is state of mind and not necessarily the physical state of the body. It drives social role and personal presentation. Sexual identity is a state of mind that drives the sexual activity of the physical body and the emotions of the heart.”

“Sexuality and gender are two of the most basic but powerful aspects of our personal identity. They are the bedrock upon which we build our self-concept and the lens through which we view the outer world.”

“A rose is a rose is a rose. But if a rose could talk, and it said it was not, would it still be a rose? This is the consciousness of identity.”

“The wonder of identity builds gender in 12 ways: psychologically, physically, professionally, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, biologically, legally, financially, aesthetically, ethically, and socially.”

“Although all individuals together make up a common tapestry, each of their lives is a unique and colorful thread. In Soul Sex we examine all of the independent threads of gender and sexuality to see how they weave together to create a beautiful textile.”

“Assuming a gender and sexual identity is not about putting on one outfit and wearing it for an entire lifetime. As outfits become outdated or outgrown, they can be discarded for new ones.”

“Gender is the prism that each one of us perceives others through in this physical world. It is the most observable quality about an individual.”

“We usually ‘read’ others’ gender from surface clues of the physical body, but an individual also has a gender energy that is not always as recognizable even though it is always present.”

“Gender and sexual identities are not caused but created. The creation of self-identity is complex, multi-dimensional, and made up of seen and unseen forces, including: biological, sociological, psychological, and spiritual factors.”

“Biology is no longer destiny due to the advances of Western medicine and surgical techniques. Now consciousness can power gender identity.”

“There are four major forces that shape the physical body: your genes, your hormones, time, and what you think of yourself.”

“21st century birth announcements should be non-gender specific and announce ‘Congratulations! It’s a human!’”

“Androgynous, intersex, and third gender individuals have been present from ancient times to modern times throughout the world. They are present in mythological and creation stories from many cultures and religions. Why then is a binary system of gender and sexual identity still the mainstream model in most cultures?”

“Non-conforming gender and sexual identities are gradually being eliminated from the books on mental disorders because these identities are natural and normal. Social awakening and subsequent law reforms are in progress to reflect the new consciousness of personal identity freedom and expression.”

“Picture your soul as a holographic globe with a continuum of sexual identity acting as longitude and a continuum of gender identity acting as latitude. Just as you can live at any longitude and latitude coordinates on Earth, you can be at any longitude and latitude of identity within the Soul. With free choice and fluidity of identity available to you at all times, you can spend an entire lifetime on one point or move from point to point throughout one lifetime.”

“Gender and sexuality are fluid and not permanently assigned at birth. It is possible for individuals to live outside of the two gender boxes of male and female. They can wake up each day and decide who they want to be at that moment in time.”

“Don’t assume that gender identity matches birth assigned sex. Modern etiquette practices should include asking an individual their preferred name and preferred pronoun.”

“We need to adapt our modern language to allow for non-gender specific pronouns that don’t keep us trapped in the old binary gender system.”

“Indigenous cultural perspectives that are based on a circular concept that all things are connected and interrelated seem to embrace the three or more gender classification systems more easily than Western cultural perspectives that are based on the linear concept that all things have a polar opposite and act independently of one another. These linear based belief systems perpetuate the binary sex system of only two legal gender statuses.”

“Because there are only two options at present, male or female, in binary gender systems, there is no place for individuals who have an identity that is both male and female or at some point between male and female. Yet the number of individuals who do not identify as either of the two legal choices is steadily on the rise.”

“Not all individuals with non-conforming gender identities are the same. Some individuals have a gender identity that is opposite of their birth assigned sex and take steps to transition the physical body to match their identity while others may have a gender identity that is somewhere between the male and female poles. These individuals make up the third gender.”

“How can people say it is unnatural to be somewhere between male and female? Picture a beautiful flower: the petals of its feminine genitalia enshroud the masculine phallus at its center.”

“Trans* individuals that live in a binary gender system are pressured to completely transit from one gender to the other. However, if there were a third gender option, how many might choose to remain at some identity between the two? How many truly embody characteristics of both male and female? Would more individuals be asking for both male and female genitalia? After all, wouldn’t that be the best of all worlds?”

“Past life experiences can have a big effect on current gender and sexual identities. In addition, a soul may change gender and sexual identity from one lifetime to another. The soul chooses specific identities to experience and learn for the purpose of growth.”

“The understanding, welcoming, and acceptance of trans* and intersex individuals as natural beings would change many lives in profound ways. Gone would be ostracism, shaming, stigmatizing, discrimination, bullying, and hate crimes perpetrated just because an individual is considered to be different.”

“I guess I am living the Reader’s Digest abridged version of fluid identity. I am a Four Spirit having lived a straight female-bodied individual; as a lesbian female-bodied individual; as a straight male-bodied individual; and as a gay male-bodied individual in one lifetime.”

“A transsexual’s emancipation proclamation is a custom made body. Surgery is one small step for a lifetime, one huge step towards freedom.”

“We should abandon classifying sexuality on the basis of an individual being attracted to someone like or opposite themselves. Individuals can identify their sexuality based on the object of their love i.e. andro-loving, gyno-loving, or pan-loving.”

“A chameleosexual is an individual whose sexual role is dependent on what the gender orientation of their partner is. In other words, an individual that is sexually versatile depending on the gender of their partner.”

“I’m not homo, hetero, bi, tri, or pan but simply sexual.”

ABOUT SELF-EMPOWERMENT

“Self-identity is self-knowledge. Self-knowledge accompanied with self-esteem creates self-empowerment.”

“If we scuttle the belief that we are victims, we realize that each of us is so powerful that we intentionally create our Earth identities for the specific purposes of learning and experience. The resulting wisdom is a gift to our soul.”

“No matter who you are or how you identify, you are exactly who you are supposed to be at this given moment in time. Your mission, if you so choose to accept it, is to recognize your self-worth, amplify your self-love, and step into your personal power.”

“Each one of us is a prize from the Universe to our Self and from our Self to the Universe. Your personal prize is as precious as diamonds, more valuable than gold, and the most beautiful rainbow ever seen.”

“Every individual has the sacred right to their identity. Identity is complex, multi-dimensional, and as unique to each individual as snowflakes are different.”

“The bottom line is that all things are possible in the world of energy. And our entire universe and all its multiple dimensions, known or unknown, consists of energy.”

“As you heal old wounds, cancel outdated vows and contracts, and create a luminous Energy Body, you are free to find the treasure you seek. It may be peace, empowerment, energy, health, creativity, prosperity, spirituality, or love. But I guarantee that by the end of your quest, you will find that you are the treasure!”

“Being compassionate doesn’t mean you need to walk a mile in my moccasins. It simply means walk a mile next to me. With respect.”

“Projections become reflections. The world is a mirror. Use it to your advantage. What belief, thoughts, words, and actions you project upon its shiny surface is none other than the very same beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions that are reflected back to you from others.”

“Like a kid in an identity shop, I am searching for the Holy Gail, that Wind of Life, on whose wings I can ride to peace.”

“Self-security is created by striking a balance of being in a power position (yang energy) and being in a peaceful place (yin energy).”

“Self-identity is self-empowerment.”

“The stronger an individual’s identity is, the more at peace they will be because owning one’s identity is empowering.”

“Self-empowerment consists of four steps: 1) Know Yourself. 2) Love Yourself. 3) Be Yourself. and 4) Share Yourself.”

“Most of us have experienced some form of trauma while growing up but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn to love ourselves, claim our power, and manifest a successful life. The possibilities all lie in the power of our perception.”

“The Golden Rule of Empowerment: Be true to yourself. And honor others for being true to themselves.”

ABOUT THE SOUL

“Our identities are created, like the perfect storm, when multiple forces converge on one physical body in one lifetime. These forces are divided into three aspects: the Physical (includes nature, hormones, DNA, and genes); the Mental/Emotional (includes nurturing, family, culture, society, and personality); and the Spiritual (includes astrology, past lives, karma, pre-life selection, and soul purpose).”

“In our current lives not only are we are working on the karma that we created in past lives but we are creating karma that will affect our future lives.”

“Our inability to accept differences in others has the power to destroy lives. Furthermore, karma being what it is, individuals that persecute others because of differences will be experiencing the other end of that persecution in a future life.”

“Duality is a construct where incarnated souls learn from experiencing polar opposites. But duality is also a spectrum with an infinite number of points between the polar opposites. We learn balance by traveling along the spectrum until we find the middle point.”

“What we see when we look in the mirror is what the world reflects back to us. We get what we believe we deserve. When we believe we are not good enough or deserve what we want, we block the flow of abundance, prosperity, and love. The more we love ourselves the more of our dreams we are able to manifest.”

“The only thing we can take with us out of this lifetime is the knowledge and wisdom that our soul acquires. So any gain we make in knowing ourselves will stay with us. These are the questions to ask in the quest for wisdom: Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going? What is my purpose? What are my gifts?”

“Perhaps my soul is really homeless because it has wandered through so many lifetimes in so many different cultures, creeds, genders, sexualities, and spiritualties.”

“A predominant characteristic of older souls is that they come onto the Earth plane with a sense of knowing. My message to old souls is, don’t let others shame you away from what you know even when you feel you are in a minority of one. Go with your gut instinct because it is the truth for you.”

“I was born in the 1950s where there was only the Black and White Way. There weren’t any Ifs, Ands, Buts, or Gray Areas allowed. Unfortunately, by the age of six, I knew I was not fitting in well with the Black and White Way. The 1960s introduced, and the 21st century is reinforcing, a replacement model for the Black and White Way. It is an inclusive Shades of Gray Way.”

“Shifting our perception from static to dynamic enables us to stop thinking in black and white and start thinking in the colorful multi-shades of the spectrum. This enables two-dimensional linear models that limit the human experience to transform into three-dimensional spherical models that are inclusive.”

“There is no such thing as ‘being born in the wrong body’. A soul may incarnate with a mismatch between identity and physical body for various reasons but it is not accidental. A soul sets the parameters of their life before incarnating. Realizing this changes an individual’s perspective from victimhood to self-empowerment.”

Past Life Package

WHAT IS A PAST LIFE PACKAGE?

A past life package combines past life regression via hypnotherapy with shamanic energy medicine healing practices to provide the most powerful, effective, and safest way to experience past life journeys.

In order to provide this past life package, a practitioner must not only be trained in hypnotherapy but in shamanic and energy medicine modalities as well. My extensive training in all three areas, allows me the advantage of offering a complete past life experience. I offer a past life experience in a package of three sessions. The sessions consist of:

Session 1: Preparation (approximately 1 hour)

  • Consultation – Discussion to identify the your issues, desires, and reasons for having a past life journey.
  • Energy Body Tune-up – Aura repair, chakra restoration, cord removal, grounding cord check, and Reiki fill up. This insures that your energy body is in top shape to experience past life travel.
  • Entity Extraction – Check for and extract entity attachments. When a you are entity-free, you will be assured that your past life memories are your own.

Session 2: Journey through Time (averages 1.5 hours)

  • Past Life Regression – This session consists of three parts. First, guided meditation and relaxation are used to put you in a trance (focused state of mind). Second, the you will be guided through time to visit a past life which will include the death experience. A portion of the post-life will also be experienced. Third, as you return to the present moment, you will receive post-hypnotic suggestions to aid you in integrating your past experiences with your present life.

Session 3: Restoration & Integration (approximately 1 hour)

  • Soul Retrieval Ceremony – A soul retrieval will be performed, where lost soul parts from your past life will be integrated into your current energy body. In addition, if you are release any foreign soul parts you may be holding. Lastly, you will be filled with power.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION (PLR)

Past Life Regression (PLR) is a therapeutic process that accesses the subconscious mind and cellular memories of birth, past lives, and life between lives. This experience can locate original sources of trauma and transform core issues that affect your daily life. A person may want to visit a past life for many different reasons such as:

  1. Curiosity to experience a past life.
  2. To explore past life influences on current relationships.
  3. To discover contracts or vows made in previous lifetimes that affect the current lifetime. These contracts can be cancelled or renegotiated as desired.
  4. To discover overt acts of past lives that affect karmic lessons in this lifetime. These overt acts can be atoned for thus changing or fulfilling karmic lessons now.
  5. To discover past talents and bring them to the present conscious mind to increase creativity and/or peak performance.
  6. To discover the pre-life contract and purpose for this current lifetime.
  7. To discover one’s overall soul purpose thereby gaining clarity about one’s intended path.

The typical questions that can be asked during a Past Life Regression are:

  1. Who are you?
  2. What are you wearing?
  3. What is your skin color?
  4. Are you male or female?
  5. How old are you?
  6. What is your name?
  7. Where are you?
  8. What do you see around you? What is the landscape like?
  9. What is the weather or climate?
  10. What is the name of the place you’re in?
  11. What is the date?
  12. What is the time of day?
  13. Do you hear anything?
  14. Do you smell anything?
  15. What are you doing?
  16. Why are you doing it?
  17. How do you feel about doing it?
  18. Is anyone with you?
  19. If so, who is that person(s) and why are they with you?
  20. How do you feel about having that person(s) with you?
  21. Do you recognize that person(s) in this lifetime?
  22. How does this lifetime relate to the current one?
  23. What is your contract? What was your vow at death, if any?

In almost all cases I highly recommend experiencing a Past Life Regression before a Between Lives Regressions.

BETWEEN LIVES REGRESSION (BLR)?

A Between Lives Regression (BLR) is a visit to the 5th dimension or Afterlife. This experience is facilitated through a hypnotic state. There are many different places in the 5th dimension to visit, including: the Hall of Wisdom (the place of life reviews), the Hall of Records (also known as the Akashic Records), the Hall of Justice (home of the Council of Elders), the Hall of Healing (a place of rejuvenation), and the home of your soul group. This is also where you will meet your personal spirit guide(s) and teacher(s).

The typical questions that can be asked during a Between Lives Regression are:

  1. What is your guide’s name?
  2. What is your guide’s soul color?
  3. What is your soul color?
  4. What percentage of soul energy did you bring into this current life?
  5. How are you doing with this amount of soul energy?
  6. Who are the members of your soul family?
  7. Who is your primary soul mate?
  8. What is the purpose for your choice of body, particular talents, life circumstances, etc?
  9. What is the purpose for your choice of current mother/father/other significant people?
  10. What are the gifts from your family of origin?
  11. Who and why did you create your family of creation (mates/children)?
  12. How does the council feel you are progressing in this life?
  13. What is your primary purpose of the current life?
  14. What is the overall mission of your immortal soul?
  15. What is your destiny?
  16. What part of your destiny have you already completed?
  17. What is your soul purpose?
  18. What are your challenges or patterns of suffering?
  19. What is the purpose of your physical illness/limitation? How can it be let go?
  20. What red flag is there (caution note that you need to be aware of)?

Past Life Astrology

Astrological Cosmology

WHERE TO LOOK ON YOUR ASTROLOGY CHART
In a past life regression (PLR) session you actually experience the details of your past life. You are there feeling your clothes, environment, and the emotions of the relationships you encounter. However, depending on how the session progress, you may need to interpret the meaning and influence that your past life has on your present life. This is a process that usually unfolds over varying amounts of time after experiencing your past life.

Analyzing your past lives based on your astrological chart (PLA) will not likely give you the specific details of your past life as a session does. But you can find the meaning and influence of past lives on your present life as well as life themes, life purpose, soul issues, what karma was left unfinished, and particularly what karma you have decided to work on in your current life.

So if you want a complete understanding of who you are and what experiences have created who you are I highly recommend both a past life regression session and a session with a past life astrologer. (Email me if you would like a referral in the San Francisco bay area.)

You can get a copy of your chart and do a lot of investigating on your own as well. Section 2 tells you what you need to know to get a chart. Section 3 tells you where you can go to get a free chart online.

This article outlines what parts of the chart to examine for karma and past life information. It does not, however, give you an interpretation of your results. For that you will need to have one or more good resource books from the list at the end of this article.

A reincarnating soul does not run through the signs of the zodiac or phases of the Moon in consecutive order. You will find that:
1. Your current Moon sign is your past Ascendant sign
2. Your current Ascendant sign is your past Sun sign
3. Your current Sun sign is your future Ascendant sign

To interpret your Life Lesson, note:
1. The South Node
2. Saturn’s Placement
3. The Life Themes

To interpret your current Life Themes from your chart, note:
1. What houses the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, and personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) are in
2. Multiple planets in a house, especially 3 or more (called a stellium)
3. Any planets that are in a conjunct aspect to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or the personal planets

Note that looking at the chart for past life information does not necessarily mean you are looking at issues of your most recent past life (with the exception of the 12th House). The information on your chart is most likely related to the past life whose karma you chose to work through in this life. Hence, the reason you chose the very moment to be born: when the stars and planets were perfectly aligned. We do not always work on karma in a linear fashion.

Here is a more comprehensive list of astrological correlations to past lives and karma:

SUN SIGN
The Sun sign and its house represent your personal identity and self-expression in your current life. It is the Sun and Ascendant sign that indicate the primary purpose of a given incarnation.

ASCENDING (RISING) SIGN
The Ascendant sign represents how you present yourself to the world and also rules the physical body. It is the starting point in your life. It is what your soul has chosen to do in this lifetime.

MOON SIGN
The Moon sign and its house represent your instincts and your emotional side in your current life.

MOON’S NODES (the two points where the Moon’s orbit intersects the plane of the ecliptic)
The moon’s nodes indicate your karmic purpose and what you have been through in the past.

The South Node symbolizes multiple past incarnations and represents unresolved wounds, tragedies, limitations, and failures, which could interfere with your ability to fulfill your soul contract in this lifetime. The sign of the South Node indicates who you were and what your soul contract was in the past. The house of the South Node indicates information on the physical scene of your past life. The South Node also represents your karma that you’ve acquired in previous lives.

The sign and house of the North Node symbolizes the characteristics of your current life task. The North Node represents the future and points to paths to travel for growth. The North Node is the growth path required to clear this karmic pattern.

People who push your emotional buttons often have nodal connections between your chart and theirs.

ECLIPSES
Before your birth there were two eclipses, one solar and one lunar. These prenatal eclipses have a profound influence you and the energy pattern follows you throughout your life. The Solar Eclipse sign determines what your gift to teach others is. The Lunar Eclipse sign indicates the lessons you have chosen to learn in this lifetime.

HOUSES
Your chart will have at least two vacant houses (not occupied by a planet). An unoccupied house indicates that this is an area of life that is not relevant in your current life. You may have already completed the karma of learning from that house in past lifetimes or you will deal with this house in future incarnations.

The 7th and 8th Houses are the relationship houses and can show relationship karma. The 7th House covers all aspects of relationships including lovers, marriage, business, and enemies from both the past and present. The 8th House is about how you give and share yourself with others.

The planets in the 12th House and aspects to them, the sign on the 12th House cusp, and other signs in the 12th House provide information about your karma. The 12th House is considered a karmic house, a house that shows memories and unfinished business from past lives. A karmic debt or repayment is likely if one or more planets are found in the 12th House, especially if they are the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, or Pluto. The 12th House represents your 1st House traits from your previous life, which were your personality characteristics and which may be hidden in your current life.

If the same sign is on the cusp of both the l2th and 1st houses, it may indicate what a continued existence, which means the previous life was interrupted before its purposes were fulfilled.

STELLIUM
A stellium (3 or more planets in one sign or one house) indicates areas of focus and concern in past lives. Stellia point to significant issues regarding concerns, feelings, reactions, and drives with which you have dealt before and are coming up again in your current life. A stellium also points to areas where you have had specific skills and talents in the past. These can be brought forward into your current life.

PLANETS
The inner planets are Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars. Jupiter and Chiron are bridges to the outer planets which are Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The outer planets have a much stronger karmic influence on you. Outer planets positions (when retrograde, intercepted, or involved with water houses) correlate to groups of individuals who have chosen to reincarnate together and have similar issues.

Saturn’s position is a major key to karma. It indicates the time period in which you developed the spiritual and psychological foundations that provide the belief structure of your current life. Saturn’s position shows traits which were not developed adequately in former lifetimes or karmic debts resulting from the negative expression of that sign. If Saturn is involved in a karmic configuration, achievement is very important to you.

If Mercury is involved in a karmic configuration, communication is very important to you.

If Venus is involved in a karmic configuration, love and self-worth is very important to you.

If Mars is involved in a karmic configuration, will, power, and physical activities are very important to you.

If Jupiter is involved in a karmic configuration, social opportunity, luck, and reward are very important to you.

If Uranus is involved in a karmic configuration, aliveness is very important to you. Uranus reveals when your soul developed the spiritual understandings that will help transform what Saturn indicates you are working on now.

If Neptune is involved in a karmic configuration, emotional ecstasy and creative pursuits are very important to you. Neptune can show the age in which your present artistic, psychic, or mystical abilities were developed.

If Pluto is involved in a karmic configuration, fearlessness and empowerment are very important to you. Pluto indicates how you signed on to help humanity. Pluto retrograde shows when you created karma that you signed up to balance in this lifetime.

Chiron’s placement shows where the soul is wounded and where the soul must heal.

ASPECTS
Planets in square aspect to the South Node represent something left unresolved from prior lifetimes. The blockages in a planet square the nodal axis must be released before the soul contract can be fulfilled. (The Ascendant, Descendant, and Midheaven work the same way as planets when they are aligned with the south node.)
Saturn in square and opposite aspect to the Sun, Moon, Venus, or Mars indicate a karmic debt or repayment. Note that absence of these aspects does not necessarily mean there is no karmic debt.

MIDHEAVEN (MC, Medium Coeli)
If the MC is involved in a karmic configuration, it represents something you aspired to in prior lives but were unsuccessful at obtaining. However, the aspiration toward that goal created a karmic obligation to reach the goal in order to satisfy the desire for it.

ELEMENTS
An imbalance of elements occurs when 3 or more or no planets are in a particular element. An imbalance can indicate an over-abundance or lack of an element in past lives.
In summary look at the following areas of your chart for past life and karmic information:
1. The Moon’s South Node
2. Planets in square aspect to the South Node
3. The Solar and Lunar Eclipse (just before your birth)
4. The 12th House
5. Saturn’s Placement
6. Saturn in square or opposite aspect to the Sun, Moon, Venus, or Mars
7. Anywhere that 3 or more planets exist in one house or sign

Reincarnation

Soul Light

When we have done all the work we were sent to Earth to do, we are allowed to shed our body, which imprisons our soul like a cocoon encloses the future butterfly. And when the time is right, we can let go of it and we will be free of pain, free of fears and worries, free as a very beautiful butterfly, returning home to Spirit. –Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Approximately 75% of the world’s population knows reincarnation exists however only 25% of Americans do.

Which religious faiths have a belief in reincarnation? Baha’i, Confucianism, Druids, Druze, Gnostic, Hinduism, Jainism, Native American, Paganism, Scientology, Rastafari, Shamanism, Shinto, Sikhism, Spiritism, Sufi, Taoism, Theosophy, Wicca, Yoruba, Buddhism, Judaism (in Kabbalah and some orthodox sects), some Spiritualism, some Unitarian Universalism, Christianity (pre-Constantinople).

Which religious faiths do not have a belief in reincarnation? Christianity (post-Constantinople), Islam, Judaism (reformed and conservative), Zoroastrianism, some Spiritualism, some Unitarian Universalism.

The existence of reincarnation is not something that science yet has the capability to prove however the following are strong justifications that is does exist:

1. Quantum Physics
2. Experiencing Dreams
3.  Experiencing Déjà Vu
4.  Hypnotic Regressions
5.  Existence of Birthmarks
6.  Existence of Prodigies and Genius
7.  Experiencing Spontaneous Memories

As Shirley Maclaine says “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

Here is a list of 10 things everyone should know about reincarnation: (source and additional information is available at this link: http://personalityspirituality.net/2009/07/10/10-things-everyone-should-know-about-reincarnation)

1. The soul exists.
2.  The soul evolves.
3.  There is a law of karma.
4.  Each lifetime is pre-planned.
5.  The soul sticks to one species at a time.
6.  Reincarnation has a beginning and an end.
7.  The soul evolves most effectively in physical form.
8.  The soul has no nationality, creed, race or gender.
9.  There is no urgency to complete our reincarnation cycle.
10.  The soul undergoes the full range of meaningful human experiences and choices by reincarnating.

Common reasons to reincarnate are usually based on:

  1. Service (to be in service to others)
  2. Desire (perhaps to be with loved ones)
  3. Karma (retribution, repetition, or compensation)
  4. Growth through lessons (for the soul’s progression)

There is used to be a considerable waiting period between lifetimes with intervals of a 1000 years or more. Modern intervals range from 10 months to 800 years with the average being around 40 years. One reason there may be shorter intervals now is that the world changes a lot more quickly and the pace of life is much quicker. Life in ancient times remained basically the same for many centuries at a time so there would have been little for a soul to learn by returning immediately.

Our so called “problems” may be a result of one single reason but more likely they are a result of a complex set of multidimensional reasons. Finding the solution may require peeling away many layers to get to the core nugget. Once the core is known to us the problems transform into gifts of wisdom.

Doris Eliana Cohen says that we usually have at least 3 life themes that are our core lessons in one lifetime. I am sure that we all relate to many of them because they are universal and common to us all. They are:

  1. Not fitting in
  2. Feeling victimized
  3. Feeling abandoned
  4. Being unheard and ignored
  5. Feeling helpless and powerless
  6. Being overlooked for advancement
  7. Feeling misunderstood by everyone
  8. Choosing the wrong romantic partner
  9. Feeling inadequate or not good enough
  10. Lacking money, health, love, or friendship
  11. Being angry; having difficulty managing anger
  12. Feeling unworthy; experiencing low self-esteem
  13. Fear of loss, commitment, intimacy, or being alone
  14. Being abused emotionally, physically, and/or sexually
  15. Being unacknowledged for one’s gifts or contributions
  16. Having personal boundaries violated and disrespected

Each lifetime has Destiny Points. Every incarnated spirit has a preplanned life journey. The soul will meet people and face opportunities and obstacles that it has planned. Free is exercised as the soul reacts to these people, opportunities, and obstacles and the subsequent decisions made from the interactions.

Each lifetime also has Exit Points, which are possible escape hatches or opportunities to bail and return to The Other Side. If a soul decides that it has accomplished all it needs to on this trip, it can opt out at one of these points, or it can decide to stay and continue on. These exit points may be obvious or they may be so trivial that we are not conscious of them. The 10 most common ways to terminate a lifetime are:

  1. War
  2. Fire
  3. Water
  4. Attack
  5. Suicide
  6. Disease
  7. Old Age
  8. Accident
  9. Starvation
  10. Catastrophe

Need a Soul Makeover?

Soul Makeover

Soul Makeover

Are you feeling the need for a soul make-over? In my soul sessions I use a combination of techniques from hypnotherapy, transpersonal psychology, shamanism, energy medicine, and metaphysics. A super-sized soul session is a series of sessions that provide you with an comprehensive health plan for your soul. Super-sized soul sessions can be done over an extended period of time or they can be done as an intensive personal retreat.

What is the benefit of having a soul make-over? The energy body, which overlays the physical body, is the home of the soul. It carries imprints from current and past lives. It also may have blocked energy from many different causes. If the energy can be freed or healed before these imprints descend to the physical body, then dis-ease and accidents can be avoided. In addition, having a healthy energy body will make you feel good; good enough to be the creative and self-empowered person you want to be. Now it is more important than ever before to create and maintain a healthy energy body because as we ascend from 3rd dimension to 4th, the physical body will fade away and the only vehicle for our soul will be the energy body. There are specific rituals that can be done now to facilitate your ascension journey. For example, activating your DNA. Working on clearing, healing, and enlightening the energy body creates a state of luminosity called the luminous body, the light body, or the rainbow body. This new luminous body has a higher energetic vibration. This higher vibration attracts positive energy into your life, including prosperity, health, and new loving relationships.

The specific agenda for super-sized soul sessions depends on your unique needs. In general, it can include:

  • Conference Room Work
  • Peaceful Place Guided Meditation
  • Grounding & Protection Guided Meditation
  • Illumination (core cause identification & clearing)
  • DNA Activation
  • Childhood and Pre-birth Regression
  • Entity Extraction
  • Crystallized Energy Extraction
  • Power Animal Retrieval
  • Spirit Guide Retrieval
  • Higher Self Retrieval
  • Inner Guide Retrieval (Inner Mate & Inner Parents)
  • Soul Retrieval & Soul Empowerment
  • Body Part Retrieval
  • Soul Release Ritual
  • Past Life Regression
  • Between Life Journey
  • Future Life Progression
  • Somatic Healing
  • Aura & Chakra Repair
  • Cord Cutting
  • Contract & Vow Cancellations
  • Reiki or Reiki Massage
  • Essential Oil Therapy
  • Meridian Tapping
  • House, Workplace, or Vehicle Clearing
  • Naming Ceremony
  • Rite of Passage Ceremony
  • Despacho & Fire Ceremony
  • Creation of a Daily Soul Plan

5 Dimensions of Consciousness

Brain Wave State, Dimensions of Conciousness

EM16

There are many different models of the dimensions of consciousness or planes of existence. They range from as few as 4 levels to as many as 31 levels in the Buddhist tradition. The most popular models use 7, 9, or 12 levels. These models are limited to this galaxy/universe. Those models that go beyond have as many as 352 dimensions.

Science is not yet sophisticated enough to prove what the dimensions are but it is provable that alternative dimensions to our world do exist.

Dimensions or planes can be thought of as density layers or different energy vibrations. They all exist simultaneously alongside of our familiar 3rd dimension world. They could also be called parallel worlds.

Each dimension has its own properties and energetic resonance. Only those that resonate with this energetic level will be able to inhabit this dimension.

Our consciousness exists on all density levels but we are not aware of it. We can access other dimensions in altered states of consciousness. For example to access 3D we are in the beta brainwave state. 4D requires alpha brainwave state to access it and 5D requires the theta brainwave state to access it.

The levels that we are most familiar with are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th dimensions as described below:

  • 3rd Dimension (3D) Everyday life as we are incarnated on Earth. What the shaman calls the middle world or ordinary reality.
  • 4th Dimension (4D) The astral plane or energetic vibration just beyond our physical, incarnate existence. Recently departed souls can pause here before traveling forward into the spiritual realm. In this dimension we can experience telepathy, out-of-body experiences, mysticism, and communicate with incarnated and discarnated beings. Ego remains with us in 4D.
  • 5th Dimension (5D) The realm of pure soul, pure love. Also called the Afterlife, Heaven, Bardo, Inbetween, Interlife, Between Lives, Spirit World, Subtle World, The Other Side, or Beyond the Veil, it is where our spiritual team of guides and teachers reside, and is the abode of our higher self. Even though we leave the 5D to incarnate into a body on earth, a portion of our energy or soul always remains on the 5D plane.

The theory of ascension is that Earth is gradually transitioning from 3rd-dimensional consciousness to 4th-dimensional. (I will cover ascension in a separate post.)

Of course, there must also be 1st and 2nd dimensions and there are dimensions above the 5th but they are not very apparent from our viewpoint in the 3rd dimension. Usually the first two dimensions have these or similar definitions:

  • 1st Dimension (1D) – The world of elementals, nature spirits, rocks, and plants. These beings do not have individual personalities.
  • 2nd Dimension (2D) – The world of animals and the little people (dryads, sprites, fairies, leprechauns, elves, and pixies). These beings do not have individual souls or personalities but share a group soul.

Another interesting way to view dimensions is this model that covers the first 5 dimensions of a 12 dimension scale:

Dimension

Awareness of Dimension

Residents of Dimension

1st

As a point Minerals, water and genetic code

2nd

As a point and line Plant kingdom and lower animal kingdom

3rd

As a point, line, width and breadth, height and volume Human beings and the higher animal kingdom

4th

As a point, line, width and breadth, height, volume and time Etheric astral body aka higher human

5th

As a point, line, width and breadth, height, volume, time and spirit One-ness of God/Goddess/All That Is. Our Higher Selves live in Unconditional Love, Unconditional Forgiveness, and Unconditional Acceptance.

In my work, I collapsed the dimensions down to 5 layers as shown here:

  • 1st Dimension – Unconsciousness. Beings that do not have individual awareness. Sometimes we have the ability to sense or see beings in the 1st dimension.
  • 2nd Dimension – Group Consciousness. Beings that have a group soul (animals).
  • 3rd Dimension – Individual Consciousness. Beings with individualized souls and personalities (humans).
  • 4th Dimension – Universal Consciousness. The group consciousness that all souls can tap into. Spirits/beings who reside here have an energy body no physical body. Here is where the Akashic records are stored. Also known as “the other side of the veil”, we can travel here in altered states of consciousness while incarnated, such as sleep, hypnosis, journeying, astral travel, etc. Sometimes we have the ability to sense or see beings in the 4th dimension.
  • 5th Dimension – Source/Creator/Great Spirit/Universal Life Force Consciousness. This is the God consciousness that overlays or surrounds all other dimensions. It is where we came from and where we will return to. Not much is known about this dimension because we are not yet ready to experience it. However, we are evolving towards it.

The Past Life Corridor

Past Lives, Reincarnation

EM45

This is a graphic representation of the Past Life Corridor as I visualize it. The PLC is one visualization technique used in hypnotic past life regression. Each door represents a past life. You can stand on the threshold of the door and view your past life as a movie or you can step into the room and actively participate in your past life. There are 2 doors at the end of the hall. One is the door to your preexistence (before you had any past lives) and the one on the right is the Life between Lives (aka Interlife or Between Lives). You can find information on how to access these doors through self-hypnosis techniques in the book Doors to Past Lives and Future Lives by Joe H. Slate and Carl Llewellyn Weschcke.

Preexistence is the place in the spirit world where our soul resided before we began our incarnation cycles. Joe Slate and Carl Llewellyn Weschcke talk about the preexistence in their book Doors to Past Lives & Future Lives. They list the following aspects of it:

  1. Our existence as souls has neither a beginning nor an end.
  2. The progress of souls in preexistence is forward even if there seem to be times of stuckness or regression.
  3. All the resources required for growth are available in our preexistence.
  4. Censure, punishment, and value judgments are absent in preexistence.
  5. Souls interact with many souls, including some who had previously lived on earth and some presently living on earth.
  6. Souls experience interactions with animals in the spirit world.

A Short Glossary of Reincarnation Acronyms

Planes of Existence, Reincarnation

A short dictionary of death-related acronyms includes:

A PLR, Past Life Regression, occurs when a person is regressed usually through hypnosis, to experience a past life and the post life review.

A BLR, Between Lives Regression, occurs when a person is first regressed usually through hypnosis, to experience a past life and then passes into the between lives to experience various events there. These events may include meeting one’s soul guide, one’s soul group, meeting one’s council of elders, visiting the hall of records or Akashic records, visiting the post-life review room, visiting the pre-life selection room, and visiting the hall of rejuvenation.

An ADC, After Death Communication, occurs when a loved one who has crossed the veil reaches out to communicate with the living through various means such as sounds, smells, touch, and visual appearances. Read Bill and Judy Guggenheim’s Hello From Heaven.

DABDA are the 5 stages of coping with death. D – Denial, A – Anger, B – Bargaining, D – Depression, A – Acceptance. Read Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s On Death and Dying.

An NDE, Near Death Experience, occurs when due to surgery, illness, or accident, a person is biologically considered dead. During this time, s/he experiences the light however does not pass entirely through the lit tunnel but decides to return to this life to finish his/her mission. Read Raymond Moody’s Life After Life.

An OBE, Out of Body Experience, occurs when one’s consciousness leaves ones physical body and moves at will in a disembodied state. Experiences can include looking back at one’s own physical body and traveling to the Afterlife. A silver cord keeps consciousness connected to the physical body during an OBE but the cord is severed during the death process after which it cannot return without incarnating in a new body. Read Robert Monroe’s Journeys Out of the Body.

A PBC, Pre Birth Communication, occurs when an unborn being contacts the living through various means such as in dreams, the touch of an invisible presence, or a telepathic message announcing pregnancy.

A SDE, Shared Death Experience, occurs when families, friends, and medical personnel are present when a person is dying. They also are surrounded by the light, taken through the tunnel, and sometimes even take part in the life review (however they do not physically die). Read Raymond Moody’s Glimpses of Eternity.

Relayering The process of taking on the emotions and strengths that a soul wants to work on or within the next incarnate life. In other words, it is the taking on of layers as the soul moves into the physical world.

Delayering A term used by Ian Lawton in his soul series books to describe the shedding of layers as the soul transitions from the physical world to the spiritual world. It is a process of healing and energy lightening that all souls receive while transitioning into the light realms.

Psychopomp

Psychopomp

A psychopomp is a guide that assists souls as they cross from life to death. This function can be performed by various roles such as the medicine person, shaman, priest, or a midwife to the dying. In Gaelic, this function is performed by the anam cara (soul friend). Functions performed by a psychopomp may include: reciting a guidebook to the dying person, chanting and praying over the dying person, listening to the dying person’s confessions and life review, recapitulation and forgiveness processing with the dying person, giving the dying person “permission” to die, assisting the soul as it exits the physical body, sealing the chakras after the soul has left the physical body, and assisting the soul to “go to the Light” when it is ready. In some parts of the world there is another psychopomp function called sin eating. Those that perform this ritual are sin eaters, people that eat food and drink laid on a dead person. This act removes the sins from the dying person saving them from purgatory.
